P2MG’s experienced staff of project and construction managers has successfully completed over $2 billion dollars of K-12, higher education, city, county, state, and federal government construction projects. The company, which is committed to total customer satisfaction, was established in 2003 in Maryland and relocated to Houston in 2006. Our home office is located in Houston, TX, and we have two satellite offices in California and Huntsville, AL. P2MG currently employs fifteen full-time and several contract employees. P2MG is a minority-owned firm certified with the State of Alabama, City of Houston, State of Texas HUB, HMSDC, METRO, and Houston Port Authority, and is 8(a) SBA Certified.
Our team of professionals utilizes the Triple Constraint (Time/Cost/Quality) to insure all projects are completed on time and within budget. We provide monthly reports of work completed including budget report updates and project milestones to keep our clients informed.
Michael E. Nelson, MEng, PMP (President)
Mr. Nelson has over 20 years of experience in Program/Project Management with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and two years with Skanska USA Building. He was a senior project manager on build-to-suit and interior fit-up projects for commercial lease space for Top Secret Agencies throughout the United States. He specializes in managing Federal Government contracts and is an expert in Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (ATFP) and Scientific Compartmental Information Facility (SCIF) Requirements. He has managed over 500K sq. ft. of build-to-suit/interior fit-up projects for the Federal Government, valued over $100M. Mr. Nelson helped the clients get the best value on all projects and meet the triple constraint (time, cost, and quality).
He also was one of several senior project managers managing an over $2B bond program for the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). Mr. Nelson started and completed over $225 million of K-12 construction. The projects ranged from window replacement valued at $100K to the complete demolition and construction of a 300K sq. ft multicultural middle/high school which included a mini-UN and parking garage valued at over $55M. Mr. Nelson was also a senior consultant/project manager on the Houston Independent School District (HISD) life safety Job Order Contracting Program (JOC). He managed over 15 projects simultaneously, valued at over $2M.
Mr. Nelson also has extensive experience with the USACE Mobile, New Orleans, and Baltimore Districts. During his tenure at the USACE, he worked in all divisions throughout the districts (Engineering, Operations, Real Estate, Construction, Contracting, Planning, and Program/Project Management Divisions). He was a Senior Project Manager for the Skanska USA Building on the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) campus improvement program valued at over $100M.
Mr. Nelson is a civil engineer and has a Master of Engineering in Project Management. He also has a Project Management Professional (PMP) License, a Black Belt in Six Sigma-Quality Management, and holds Top Secret Clearance (TS-SCI). He is a certified trainer in Scheduling, Earn Value Management, Estimating, Risk Management, and PMI Certification. He is an active member of the Project Management Institute, Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce, Houston Minority Business Council, Houston Contractors Associations, and the Associated General Contractors of America.
